About
Hello, I’m Kathy, the heart and soul behind Glebe Meadow Counselling. Originally from Denmark, the UK has been my home for most of my life. My path to becoming a counsellor has been anything but linear, and I believe this is what gives me the depth of understanding and empathy I bring to each session.
My professional journey began in agriculture, grounded in hard work and a deep respect for nature’s rhythms. I then spent 24 enlightening years as cabin crew, travelling the world, connecting with people from all walks of life, and learning the art of calm in chaos. These years gave me a global perspective and fed my innate sensitivity to the unspoken emotions of others.
After stepping away from the skies, I found myself drawn to working with children and young people, particularly those with additional needs. I trained and worked as a SEND Teaching Assistant and an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), where I witnessed the power of connection, patience, and small steps making a big difference.
As someone who is neurodivergent, and raising my neurodiverse children, I understand first-hand how the world can feel overwhelming and often misaligned. This lived experience shapes my practice, I strive to make my space inclusive, accepting, and tailored for every unique mind. Diversity isn’t just something I value; it’s something I live.
I offer counselling that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and grounded in real life. Whether you're navigating loss, change, identity, or simply need a space to be heard, I’m here to walk alongside you.
