How I can help
Life doesn't always go to plan.
Sometimes we experience loss, anxiety, trauma or a major change that leaves us feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes we don't even know exactly what is wrong, we just know that things don't feel right.
You don't have to have all the answers before asking for help.
I'm Kathy, a Pluralistic Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, offering a warm, compassionate and individual approach to therapy.
I work with adults, older people, children and young people, supporting people through some of life's more difficult moments.
Therapy doesn't always have to happen in a therapy room.
I bring therapy to you.
I offer sessions in your own home, and where appropriate within nursing homes and hospitals. I also offer Walk & Talk therapy, because sometimes talking while walking outdoors feels much more natural than sitting opposite someone in a room.
I believe therapy should work around the person, rather than expecting the person to fit into therapy.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Counselling & Hypnotherapy
Sometimes talking is exactly what you need.
Sometimes you want to make a change but feel as though you've tried everything.
That's where hypnotherapy may be helpful.
I offer both counselling and clinical hypnotherapy, either separately or, where appropriate, alongside one another.
Together, we can explore what you need and decide what approach feels right for you.
You remain in control of your therapy at every stage.
What I can offer
Grief & Bereavement
Grief doesn't follow a timetable.
I offer support following the death of someone important to you, as well as support with anticipatory grief when you are facing the possible loss of someone you love.
There is no "right" way to grieve.
Pet Bereavement
Our animals are family.
When they die, the loss can be enormous.
I specialize in pet bereavement counselling, offering a safe place to talk about your loss without being told to simply "move on". It wasn't just a pet. It was a relationship.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Counselling:
I offer a neurodiversity-affirming approach for people who experience the world differently.
You don't need to mask, perform or explain yourself perfectly.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Counselling
At Glebe Meadow, I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, accepted and completely themselves.
I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients and offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk about whatever is bringing you to counselling, whether that’s relationships, anxiety, grief, confidence, life changes, or simply needing someone to listen.
You don’t need to explain, justify or hide who you are. You don’t need to fit any particular label, and you certainly don’t need to change who you are to feel welcome here.
No judgement. No expectations. Just a safe space to be you.
Children & Young People:
With my background in education and SEND support, I understand that children and young people may communicate their feelings differently from adults.
I offer counselling and hypnotherapy adapted to their individual needs.
Older People
Bereavement, loneliness, illness, retirement, changes in independence and moving into residential care can all bring significant emotional challenges.
I offer home visits and appropriate support within nursing homes.
If what you're experiencing isn't here, please don't assume I can't help.
Sometimes "I'm not okay" is enough reason to reach out.
A space where you can be yourself
You don't need to know exactly what you need.
You don't need the right words.
You don't need a diagnosis.
And you don't need to wait until things become unbearable.
The first step can simply be a conversation.
I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation, giving you the opportunity to tell me a little about what's happening and ask any questions you may have.
There's no pressure and no obligation to book
